Momentum

Have you ever noticed that when you watch a football game and a team has a couple bad plays in a row, they start to mess up more. The opposite is also true. When a team makes a couple of great plays, it suddenly feels like the wind is at their back. Everything they touch turns to gold. Its magic and the atmosphere becomes electric. I live for that indescribable moment. I believe that this is how all of life works. Albert Einstein said “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you can not but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.”

What is it that you truly want? When you close your eyes and picture the ideal you, what do you see? Is she dressed well and pulled together, driving a beautiful car, and surrounded by amazing people who encourage her spirit? Does she eat healthy, delicious meals and live in a stylish and organized home? I propose that we will never become the women we want to be until we put ourself in the mental “space” of being her. We have to be, to embody, what we want in order to manifest the result. It isn’t enough to simply wish for what we want. You have to claim it as if it already belongs to you.

Six years ago, my husband and I developed a three year plan on January 1st to purchase our “forever home”. We picked a target area in the town we lived in and began to put our plan into place. Being a huge believer in the law of attraction and manifesting the reality that you want, I immediately started taking the long way through town. Every time I came into town and every time I left town, I traveled down the street I wanted to buy a house on. As I drove, I literally pictured myself driving to my home. I embraced this reality as if it were mine. I was matching my frequency with the frequency I wanted to create.

On January 17th, as I drove to work, I noticed a house for sale on our target street with a sign announcing that there would be an open house on Sunday. I checked the realtor’s sight, and sure enough, it was priced near the top of our budget. When I got home that night, I told my husband I would like to go to the open house to see what features and amenities existed in the houses at this price point in this area. Houses on this street didn’t come on the market often. It was entirely possible that this would be the only house for sale on this street for a year or more. We went, and were in love. The floorplan was literally perfect for our family. I remember looking at my husband while we toured the house, and saying “This feels like the right house, but at the wrong time.” We had a three year plan after all. We signed the guest book at the realtor’s request and drove across town to our home. Three days later, as we sat to watch some evening TV, there was a knock at our door. On the other side, there was the realtor from the open house. She had a family looking for a house just like ours, in our subdivision. Would we be interested in selling? We couldn’t even wrap our heads around this sudden change, so we told her we’d talk and call her the next day. Remember, we had a three year plan and we were three weeks into the plan. We decided that this my be our sign and decided to follow this energy. We rationalized that we’d put a few thousand into making the changes we needed to make to get it ready for the market and that we’d walk through the doors that opened for us. If the door closed, we were going to enjoy our home for a few more years, with some nice improvements made. We called and she told us she had talked about our house in the office and now had three potential buyers. The next week, she brought in all three and we immediately had two offers, both well above asking price. On January 27th, she brought over the contract to sell and our offer for the house we wanted. The house on the street we wanted. We closed on our forever house three and a half months into our three year plan, and I believe to my core that it is because we matched our frequency to the frequency of the reality we wanted. Our energy around the goal created momentum that carried us far faster than we could have imaged.

What do you want to create? I encourage you to let yourself live in the mindset of already possessing it. It may be hard and first and you may have to train your mind, but the momentum will take over and before you know it you will feel the shift. The shift is like an airplane taking off. At first, it requires great effort like that revving of the jet engines as you taxi down the runway. Somewhere in the trying and believing, the momentum shifts and you are no longer pushing the momentum. The momentum is carrying you as you move faster and faster, until you take off to new heights. It’s the moment I live for. The law of attraction works and if you learn how to harness it’s power, you will create a life you are in lux with.
